Guest Lecture: Catrina Wessels ‘The Publishing Industry in South Africa’

Catrina Wessels is the Contracts and Rights Manager at NB Publishers‬. NB Publishers is the largest general publisher in the South African book market, and the leader in adult fiction, nonfiction, children’s and youth fiction.

They mainly publish books for the general trade market in South Africa, but also publish literature and grammar textbooks for schools. NB publishes across all genres, mostly in Afrikaans, English and in some of the local African languages.

Catrina Wessels studied at the University of Stellenbosch earning a bachelor’s degree in Law, a Masters in Language and also a Postgraduate diploma in Intellectual Property Law. Catrina will give a lecture on the publishing industry in South Africa.
