By train:
The main train station (Poznań Główny) is situated next to the Poznań International Fair and it is a 10-minute walk to get to Collegium Novum from there. It is a busy train station which offers frequent connections to all the main cities in Poland as well as various international connections to cities like Berlin, Frankfurt (Oder), Moscow, Minsk, Kiev, Cologne, Utrecht or Amsterdam. In order to find your connections, please visit the website of Polish Railways

By plane:
Poznań Airport (Ławica) is around 8 km from the city centre and is linked with it by the City Public Transport Company (MPK). To get to the centre, take the 48, 59, L or 242 (night bus) line. You may also take one of the taxis that are parked in front of the arrival hall.

The airport offers connections operated by traditional carriers such as LOT, Lufthansa, SAS, British Airways, or Jet Air, as well as low-cost ones: Ryanair, Aer Lingus and Wizz Air.
The timetable is available on the airport’s website .

How to get around Poznań
The most convenient way to travel around Poznań is to use the public transport. The maps of connections are available here (schemat sieci) and the timetables can be found here. Day trams and buses operate from 5 am till almost 11 pm. Night lines operate from 11 pm till 5 am. All night buses start their routes every 30 minutes at Rondo Kaponiera which is situated at the junction of Święty Marcin and Roosevelta Street .

Phones:
The international dialling code for Poland is +48, the local code for Poznan is 61. All European mobile phones will work without any problems.
Coin-operated phone boxes do not exist in Poland anymore; in order to use a public phone, one needs to buy a telephone card (karta telefoniczna) at the post-office, in any kiosk or shop (ask at the cash desk).

Money:
The official currency in Poland is the zloty (zł or PLN). Currency exchange bureaus can be easily found in the city centre as well as the shopping centres and hotels. Credit and debit cards are widely accepted; the most popular card systems are Visa, Maestro and MasterCard. In some places it is possible to pay in euros; however, the change will be given in zł and the exchange rate is not very favourable.
