Call for papers
The History of the English Language - Poznań 2017 Conference HEL-P 2017 25-26 November 2017
Dear Colleagues, You are cordially invited to take part in the History of the English Language — Poznań 2017 conference hosted by the Faculty of English, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland. The Conference Organisers are planning two plenary lectures and a number of individual paper sessions; a poster session is also possible depending on demand. Our plenary speakers are: 1. Prof. Julia Fernández Cuesta, Universidad de Sevilla 2. Dr. Joanna Kopaczyk, The University of Edinburgh / Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań The organisers invite papers presenting original research on any aspect of the history of the English language, regardless of theoretical framework or historical period (the "history" part is understood as no later than 1950s for purely diachronic studies). Papers with a literary or cultural twist are also welcome provided language plays the central role in their organisation. Participants at all stages of their careers not planning on delivering a presentation are also welcome. Submission of abstracts All submissions are to be sent to hel-p2017@wa.amu.edu.pl.
- the abstract must remain fully anonymous. Please make sure that your files do not include your name in the document properties either;
- the abstracts have to be between 300-500 words, excluding the title, linguistic examples, and references;
- the preferred format is A4 sheet with 2cm margins; font Times New Roman 14pts bold (title) and 12 pts (body);
- the only file format accepted is .pdf . However, please observe that should your proposal be accepted you will be asked to send in an editable copy (.doc(x) or .odt).
