Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

  1. You paper should be written in English and follow the stylesheet, otherwise it will be rejected without review.
  2. Make sure that your paper is a contribution to linguistic studies.
  3. Be warned that your paper will be rejected immediately in case of any signs of plagiarism.
  4. Your paper should contain an abstract of c. 200-300 words. The abstract should end with c. five keywords.
  5. The length of your paper should not exceed c. 6000 words, excluding the abstract, references and appendices.
  6. Submission
    1. When submitting your paper for review, send it as a PDF file. A free, open-source PDF generator is available from here.
    2. Once your paper has been accepted, submit the final version as both PDF and DOC files.
    3. Your paper should be anonymised. Do not include your name, contact data, or any other identifiable details. Make sure that your submission does not include your name in the metadata, e.g. if you write your paper in Word that is registered on you, and then you save that file as PDF, everyone will be able to see your name if they look up the properties of that PDF. If you do not now how to do it, send us the doc file and we will do it for you.
  7. Illustrations and appendices
    1. The figures in the paper (illustrations, etc.) may be in colour.
    2. Once your paper has been accepted, please include all the figures as separate files with the final version of the paper. Use either JPG, PNG or EPS as file format.
    3. Audio (wave, mp3), video (avi, mp4) and other multimedia files are also acceptable.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in PDF (and Word if applicable) document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  5. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
