PLM2007 Session: Slavic phonotactics

We are pleased to announce that the programme of PLM 2007 will include a session on Slavic Phonotactics.

The patterns observed in Slavic languages have always been a challenge and a testing ground for any theory of syllabification and word structure. Although the facts are well known and have been thoroughly studied from various theoretical perspectives, it seems that a lot of puzzles still await for adequate descriptions and explanations. We invite contributions taking an empirical approach to data from a variety of Slavic languages ranging from broad typological investigations to detailed descriptions of particular phenomena in individual languages.

Presentations will follow the usual format of twenty minutes for the presentation itself and ten minutes for ensuing discussion. Abstracts of no more than 500 words should be submitted by e-mail to the PLM Organising Committee (plm@ifa.amu.edu.pl) in accordance with the general submission instructions.

All participants must register for the conference. The registration form will be available soon.

Organisers:
Katarzyna Dziubalska-Kołaczyk (Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań)
Eugeniusz Cyran (Catholic University of Lublin) (mail: cyran at kul.lublin.pl)
