Dr Shawn Loewen jest profesorem Uniwersytetu Stanowego Michigan. Specjalizuje się w metodyce nauczania j. angielskiego jako języka kolejnego, interakcji w języku nieojczystym oraz metodologii badań ilościowych. Interesuje się także relacjami pomiędzy badaniami naukowymi nad metodyką akwizycji języka i ich przełożeniem na praktykę pedagogiczną. Prowadzi badania nad efektywnością materiałów do nauki języków obcych przez internet i aplikacje mobilne. W ubiegłym roku ukazało się drugie wydanie jego książki pt. „Introduction to Instructed Second Language Acquisition".
Shawn Loewen (PhD, University of Auckland) is Professor in the Second Language Studies and MA TESOL programs at Michigan State University. He is also currently the Director of the Second Language Studies program. His research interests include instructed second language acquisition,second language interaction, quantitative research methodology.
In addition to publishing in leading SLA journals, he has authored several books. The most recent is the Second Edition of Introduction to Instructed Second Language Acquisition. He also co-edited The Routledge Handbook of Instructed Second Language Acquisition (2017) and Evidence-based second language pedagogy: A collection of instructed second language acquisition studies (2019) with Masatoshi Sato .
