Prof. Harald Clahsen is an expert in grammatical processing and language disorders. His research interests also include theories of morphology and syntax. In 2011 he set up the Potsdam Research Institute for Multilingualism (University of Potsdam), which investigates the nature of multilingualism in children and adults, including patients with language disorders. He has published 9 books and more than 120 research articles. He has received the Gerhard-Hess Award from the German Science Foundation for his work on language acquisition and an award from the University of Düsseldorf for his book on child language disorders. In 2010 he won an Alexander-von-Humboldt-Professorship, the most valuable international research award in Germany. He is also a Fellow of the British Academy and a Member of the Academy of Europe. He co-edits Benjamins’ book series on Language Development and Language Disorders as well as the journal Bilingualism: Language and Cognition published by Cambridge University Press.
