We are celebrating the 50th edition of the Poznań Linguistic Meeting between 16 and 19 September 2021. The meeting is being held in a fully online format. This jubilee edition focuses on the impact of linguistic research on our cognition and knowledge. The leitmotif is "Linguistics matters: On the importance of the study of language in the modern world." The keynote address will be given by Ian Maddieson (University of New Mexico). Confirmed plenary speakers: Martine Robbeets (Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History), Joanna Pawelczyk (Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań), and Charles B. Chang (Boston University): Similarity in multilingual perceptual development and attrition.
