The Faculty of English invites everyone to a concert CHOPIN MEETS THE BEATLES: Songs of Love, Loss & Longing by Fulbright Visiting Professor Pamela Howland. The concert will take place on Saturday, April 28 at 4:00 p.m., at "Szachownica" in Stary Browar (chessboard courtyard in the Stary Browar mall) in Poznań.
Steinway Artist Pamela Howland is a classically trained concert pianist, a specialist in the works of Polish composer Frederic Chopin, and a fan of The Beatles - but primarily, she communicates emotions to audiences through the language of music. Vivacious, imaginative, sensitive and just a trifle unconventional, she is that rare classically trained performing artist who thrives as an entertainer. Pamela Howland has created original piano arrangements of beloved Beatles tunes, transporting the Fab Four back to Chopin’s musical landscape. In her spectacular recital, Beatles arrangements will be paired with favorite Chopin pieces and Pamela Howland will also talk to the audience about her artistic process in spotlighting musical ideas that fascinated the pop-rock heroes and the venerated composer alike. Chopin Meets the Beatles promises to take the audience on a fascinating musical journey.
