Phd Student Meetups Season 1
Episode 5: Workshop
7 November 13:15-14:45, Collegium Novum 601A
Aim
This workshop explains the basics of conducting linguistic fieldwork. We will work with recording equipment and will discuss the techniques of finding informants, ethical issues and interview design among other things.
Prerequisites
No prior knowledge required. I will try to talk to as broad audience as possible, so that not only hardcore sociolinguists should feel welcome. Lexicographers, syntax people, come too, I'll show you why.
This is the first in a series of two workshops.
If you would like to take part in any of the workshops, please fill in this
form. It will allow us to adapt the contents of the workshop to your actual needs. We will confirm your participation via email.
See you there.
