Our colleague from the Department of Studies in Culture, dr Urszula Kizelbach, was invited as a guest speaker and contributor to a series of lectures on literary linguistics organised by Prof. Dr. Eric Rundquist at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. On November 7, 2018 dr Kizelbach delivered three lectures on Shakespeare, literary stylistics and pragmatics of fiction as part of the series “Inside the minds of the fictitious characters: The language of mind in fiction”.
In 2018 dr Kizelbach was appointed Poetics and Linguistics Association (PALA) Ambassador for Poland. PALA is a prestigious organisation uniting scholars interested in poetics, linguistics and literature, which holds annual international conferences and is based in the UK. She was elected a member of the Advisory Board of the conference “Addressing the Reader: The pragmatics of communication from the first printed novels in English to 20th and 21st century digital fiction”, which is to be held at University Paul Valéry of Montpellier III in 2019.
