WA Friday Lunch Talks (previously called WA Friday Lectures) are regular discussion meetings with presentations of current research results or research in progress given by WA faculty staff or PhD students.
As of 2019/2020, the Friday Lunch Talk events take place in Sala Górna, Collegium Heliodori, on Fridays at 1:15 PM, and there is one featured talk each time. The speaker(s) have one hour (13:15-14:15), with up to 45 minutes for a presentation and 15 minutes for discussion. This new time frame allows for a more in depth talk and a more relaxed and fruitful conversation afterwards.
The current listing of talk titles (and short summaries) is available here.
The archive of the previous Friday Lunch Talks and Friday Lectures series is available here.
Guidelines for presenters (as of April 2013):
1. The speakers / presenters are required to announce and advertise their talks on our TV screens from Monday to Friday of the week when their presentations are scheduled. Documentation and guidelines are on the downloads for staff page (password or web leader access required).
2. The speakers are responsible for making sure their presentations run smoothly; any technical difficulties should be reported to the technical personnel before the day of the lecture.
3. The chairperson of the lectures introduces the speakers and presents their current research interests / scholarly background; it is thus vital that the presenters keep their personal pages on the WA website up to date. A printed summary of the main details is recommended for the chairperson's convenience.
