May it please Your Excellency /
The Memorial of Jane Erith humbly /
Sheweth/ /
That on Thursday last the 14\th/ Instant. Memorialist /
transmit/t\ed a Letter to the Secretary to Government, /
informing him, of the situation her Family then stood, /
which communication Sir Richard Plasket was so good /
as to say he would inform Your Excellency of that Evening /
Memorialist waited with the greatest anxiety on the /
following day from Eleven till four Oclock. being told /
Your Excellency would be in Town, wether Your Excellency /
was informed of it on Your Arrival, or thro the Multiplicity /
of Busines+s it was forgotten I leave, but at present it /
remains unanswered, I have therefore concisely to state /
that my Family is in want of Bread, for on my leaving /
the Colonial Office Yesterday, if I had not borrowed 2Rds of /
a Widow to purchase it, I should not have had one Other to /
have releaved their Hungar, having left them in the Morning /
with only one double * loaf of Brown Bread . . I make no /
comments _ /
Willing as I am to undertake any means for /
their future provision, without Capital Your Excellency /
must know it is impos+siable to Succeed _ I therefore /
take the liberty to state, that if Your Excellency will /
be pleased /

be pleased to order me a Grant of 600 \Rds/. (on Intrest), I /
can engage in a concerne, which by Industry will provide /
for their future sustenance, or if Your Excellency will /
be pleased to point out any other way, as far as my Health /
and Strength will permit, I will with pleasure acquiesce /
