Dyason, Isaac

May it please your Excellency /

The Memorial of Izaac Dyason of Lushington Valley, /
Torrens River, near Bathurst, Albany _ /
Humbly Sheweth /

That your Memorialist was very unadvisedly induced /
in the early part of the present Year to become one of the /
securitys for M\r/ Jarman of Barthurst in the purchase of /
the Part at that place. Your Memorialist had no interest /
in the said purchase not any other motive save that /
of Friendship, and a wish that M\r/ Jarman might succeed /
in his undertaking; but unfortunately the reverse has /
been the case, from various circumstances M\r./ Jarman /
has not succeeded his property has been seized, and /
sold at a great los+s on its original Cost _ /
Your Memorialist some Months ago being /
very anxious, and thinking the Busines+s would not /
answer waited with Mr Jarman on the proper authority /
when M\r/ Jarman offered to give up the Concern; and /
his property therein but he M\r/ Jarman was then /
encouraged to proceed, and M\r/ Jarman soon after /
told Your Memorialist he had paid a part of the /
Grant by advances to Government./
Your Memorialist humbly presumes and believes /
that M\r/ Jarman never had any intention to deceive the /
Government or convert any of its property to his own /
use but that he has failed from a deficiency of capital, /
giving too much credit, and having gone beyond his /
Means /
>

means in Building. /
Your Memorialist humbly hopes your Excellency /
will excuse the foregoing remarks, and earnestly /
entreats that he may be absolved from this Busines+s /
having a numerous but industrious Family to /
provide for, and owing to the great, and general /
dis+stres+s and failure has been obliged to expend all /
little property on the cultivation of his Location /
and his being proceeded against in this Busines+s so as to /
prevent that as+sistance from his friends he is soon /
expecting. /
Mr Horsley also one of the securitys, died lately leaving /
a Widow with a numerous and dis+stres+sed Family , /
and M\r/ Carpenter another security is in very indifferent /
circumstances. /
If it is required Your Memorialist can give the best /
references as to his general Character and Conduct /
and can have this Memorial attested by the most /
respectable signatures _. /
Your Memorialist wishes to impres+s on the /
Mind of Your Excellency the inevitable dis+stres+s /
ruin it would plunge himself and Family /
if proceeded against, therefore most respectfully /
earnestly implores Your Excellency to set his * /
at ease on this Busines+s, and for which as in duty /
himself and Family will ever pray _. /
December 1\st./ 1821 _ /
