The Memorial of Peter Wichman
Settler residing in Grahams
Town a Taylor by trade.
That Memorialist in the year
1821 became the proprietor of an
Erf in this Town No 55 which
he exchanged with Peter Retief
for the Erf No or more elligable
situation for Memorialist
trade
That Memorialist in order
to

become in possession of said
Erf was obliged to execute before
the late Secretary Mr Liseur
Bond in favour of Mr Retief
payable the Currant year amounting
to Rds 2,500
That Memorialist has
been called upon to pay the
same amount, which he
feels himself unable to do
having laid out the small
capital which he brought
with him from England in
building on the said Erf small
dwellings which yield 130 Rds
fo month
Memorialist therefore takes
the liberty of soliciting your
Excellency, to direct that a
Loan to the Amount of 2500
Rds

Rds may be granted to him
upon Mortgage of the said
Erf and Buildings together
with such other conditions
as Your Excellency may deem
advisable.
Memorialist will as in duty
bound ever pray.
