Clarke, E Catherine

The humble Memorial of Catherine E Clarke
To His Excellency Lord Charles Somerset
Govenor of the Cape of Good Hope &c &c &c

Sheweth

That your Memoralist being left totally
without means of support except what she must
obtain by her own exertions (Through the loss of
her husband) and not having any Relatives in
this Colony your humble memoralist entreats your
Excellency will be pleased to grant her a free
passage to Cape Town as her being on the frontiers
entirely diverts her of the opportunities
she might have of facilitating her return to
the bosom of her family who can support
her in comfort and untill as desirable a point
might be obtaind she considers she might be
able to employ her talents to more advantage
than she can possibly do in this part of the
Colony
Your humble memoralist entreats your
Excellencys favorable answer to this her prayer
and she as in duty bound
will ever pray &c &c
