The Memorial of John Austin
Most humbly Sheweth
That your Memorialist being a Baker
by Trade he has Established himself in
Grahams Town and by dints of industry has
been enabled to Purchase the half of an Erf,
Situated in the Hight Street, upon which he
has Built himself a Substantial
Dwelling and Bake House, at the
Expence of Four Thousand Rix Dollars
Rds. 4000. besides the purchase of his Land
That your Memorialist having
frequently heard of your Excellencys
Beneficence in Assisting the Industrious
by Loans of Money in Order to Enable
them to prosecute their pursuits of
Business. your Memorialist is induced
therefore to pray that your Excellency will
be pleased to grant him the Loan of One
Thousand Rix Dollars Rds 1000 in Order to
enable him to pursue his Trade with
greater Facility.
Your Memorialist can give ample Security
for the Amount he prays for. he therefore
humbly hopes that your Excellency will be
pleased to take the same into consideration
and grant this his prayer, and your
Memorialist will be ever as in duty
