in Chief of the Cape of Good Hope and its
Dependencies.
The Memorial of Thomas Hewson
humbly sheweth, that, your Memorialist
has expended a considerable sum of Money in
Cultivation and Improvements at Bathurst,
but from failure of Crops and other Circumstances
has been induced to remove to Grahams Town
where he has purchased an Erf with the Building
thereon for the sum of Two Thousand Rix Dollars.
but finds it necessary to repair and enlarge said
Buildings by which he will incur an additional
expences of Two Thousand Rix Dollars.
Your Memorialist therefore humbly prays
Your Excellency will be pleased to grant him a
Loan of One Thousand Rix Dollars to complete the
above, offering the said Properties at Grahams Town
and Bathurst as security for the Same
And Your Memorialist will ever pray
