Humbly Sheweth
That your Memorialist being
a Carpenter by Trade from his
Industry he has been enabled to Build
Six Houses in Grahams Town and
also has purchased on Erf and a
half of Ground
Your Memorialist prays
Your Excellency would be pleased

to Grant him the Loan of Rds 1000 _
to enable your Memorialist to Build
a good and Substantial House upon
his Erf, which Joins the Main Street
of the Town and for which Loan
your Memorialist will give good
and ample security.
That Your Excellency will
be pleased to take the prayer of your
Memorialist into Consideration.
And as in duty bound he will
ever pray
