Excellency that I came out as a Settler
with Captain Scotts party from whom I
obtained my discharge, & have for sometime
past been living with Mr Nicholas Hitge
at this place _ Being desirous of proceeding
to Cape Town where I think I shall be able
to do better than here, I shall be obliged by
your Excellencys allowing me a Colonial pass
for that purpose, which favor will ever be
