9th of Decr 1824
Sir.
I humbly beg leave to solicit
the favour of a Colonial pass to be granted to
me from your Office by virtue of the following
Statement
I left England in the Ship Belle Alliance
with and engaged to Mr Willsons party of Settlers
on arrival we disembarked in Algoa Bay &
Remained on the Frontiers upwards of three
years I came down from thence lately to
Cape Town and am at present employed by
Wr Apsey Hatter Market Square but finding
that every European is obliged to have a Pass
I humbly hope this will suffice as an excuse
for my thus soliciting your favour I have the
Honour to be
Sir
your most obedient humble Servt
Fredk Moltby
