I have the honour to acknowledge the
receipt of your letter, Communicating his
Excellencys View of my situation in reference
to my Memorial forwarded by Major Rogers on the
15th January last. I have called on the Landdrost
at Grahams town agreeable therto. and find he
is not authorized to afford the necessary protection
little is required from any man of disernment
under these Circumstances to point out the line of Conduct he
Ought to pursue and as I must Abandon my
place I consider it necessary to enclose for your
Inspection a slight outline of the improvements
Making and nearly Compleated
I have in consequence the
Honor to Request you will be pleased to inform me
will the Colonial Goverment Remunerate
the Expences incurred. or am I to apply to the
Goverment at home for Consideration
I have also the honor to request
you will be pleased to State in what

Excellency the Governor desires the balance
due to the Commesariat to be discharged. as
I shall make arrangements to meet his Excellencys
pleasure accordingly
I beg leave to request it may
be fully understood I am willing to suffer
any loss I can bear consistant with Justice to
my people. and that whatever his Excellencys
pleasure is upon this application

I have my Family removed to a place of
Safety if no protection can be allowed
