Prays for A Colonial Pass
Your Memorialist is now residing at Graaff Reinet with
his Family with the Consent of the Landdrost of
Albany and your Excellencys Concurrence as will appear
from the enclosed Copy of a Letter from the former Magistrate
to Captn. Stockenstrom) not with any intention of
relinquishing or neglecting his location having employed
Men to go on with the Cultivation and Improvement of it.
And your Memorialist is also expecting shortly the Arrival
of A Brother from England to take the management
of his Farm
Your Memorialist has to regret he has nothing to
recommend him to your Excellency being a stranger in this
Country. but the Enclosed Copy of a Letter from his
Friend SR Lushington Exqr to Mr. Ellis who is unfortunately
Absent _
And your Memorialist will in Duty bound Ever Pray .
