placed by the British Government, at the disposal /
of His Excellency the Governor, for the as+sistance /
of the Settlers, by the way of Loan, and wishing to avail /
myself of the as+istance thus generously offerd by /
His Majestys Government, and being also inform’d that /
the distribution is rested in you, I take this opportunity /
of Soliciting your attention to My present application /
It would be superflous in me to detail what, I /
am Since your must be well aware off (viz+) My exertions /
since I came to this Colony, the facts speak for themselves, /
the Los+ses I have sustain’d you well know !!! _ /
May I therefore request you will have the goodnes+s /
to acquaint me with the Neces+sary forms requir’d on this /
occasion to obtain a loan of Five Thousand Rix Dollars /
