Hanger, Edward
To His Excelancy the Right Honorable
Lord Charles Henery Somerset
Governor of the Cape of Good Hope _&c &c &c _
The Memorial of Ed Hanger Humbely
Sheweth
That your Memorialest as by unremitting
Industry Built himself a good House in Grahams Town
Besides Stocking his Location with one Hundred Head
of Cattle of Superior quallity and as Expended upward
of Eighteen Hundred Rix dollars on his Land and Received
But Little Return your Memorialest as far as the Last Two
years Suffered by that dreadful Malidy the Rhumatism
so as to be nearly deprived of the use of his Leggs _
Your Memorialest Finds he Cannot Carry on his Business
as a Carpinter Or Cultivate his Land to the Extent
Necessary to the Suppoart of him Self and Family
Without the Kind assistance of your Excilancy
Memorialest therefore Most Earnestly prays that
you wold be Most Graciously pleased to grant
him a Loan of One Thousand Rix dollars
for which he will give most Ample Security
And your Memorialest and Family Will feel
Themselves in duty bound to pray for
your Excilancy _
