Understanding that a Sum of Money has been
placed by the British Government, at the disposal
of His Excellency the Governor, for the assistance
of the Settlers, by the way of Loan, and wishing to avail
myself of the asistance thus generously offerd by
His Majestys Government, and being also informd that
the distribution is rested in you, I take this opportunity
of Soliciting your attention to My present application
It would be superflous in me to detail what, I
am Since your must be well aware off viz) My exertions
since I came to this Colony, the facts speak for themselves,
the Losses I have sustaind you well know !!! _
May I therefore request you will have the goodness
to acquaint me with the Necessary forms requird on this
occasion to obtain a loan of Five Thousand Rix Dollars
The favour of an answer at your earliest convenience
will oblige Sir
