Being anxious to avail myself of the
benevolent aid offerd by His Majestys Government
to the British Settlers in Albany, and having heard
that the Landdrost had it in his power, or was the
Medium thro which Loans were granted, from the
Money placed at your Excellencys disposal, I applied
to that Gentleman for a Loan, but have been referd
to your Excellency _
I do myself the honor to enclose copies of my
corrispondence to solicite, that your Excellency will
be pleased to allow me to participate with othir
Settlers, in the aid now so generously held forth
by

enable me in some Measure to Surmount
the many and great Losses I have sustained
