We beg leave to express our gratitude for
the kind, liberal and considerate manner
with which our Government have attended to
and provided for ourselves and the comforts
of our Families in this distant and almost
uninhabited region, also to make known to
the Government at home and our Countrymen
through your medium, the care that
has been taken of us since our departure
from England: at the same time, we cannot
help expressing our satisfaction and returning
our sincere thanks thus publickly to
your Excellency and the resident Authorities
for the able, humane and energetic manner

with which you and they have attended
our steps under every difficulty of passing
almost inaccessible roads, woods & Rivers :
caused the supply of Provisions to be brought to
us from distant parts and seen our necessities
supplied confiding in our industry and
gratitude for a return and payment.
Thus supported and assisted in one of
the finest Countries of the world with
pleasure we toil and look forward to the
day when we shall be enabled to repay
our Country and convince the heads
of the departments that their confidence in
our exertions have not been misplaced
and that we have been deserving of that
Maternal Solicitude with which the
Government at home and here have
attended us. wishing your Excellency every
happiness and honour your noble exertions
