Clarke, E Catherine

The humble Memorial of Catherine E Clarke /
To His Excellency Lord Charles Somerset /
Govenor of the Cape of Good Hope 7+c 7+c 7+c /

Sheweth /

That your Memoralist being left totally /
without means of support except what she must /
obtain by her own exertions (Through the los+s of /
her husband) and not having any Relatives in /
this Colony your humble memoralist entreats your /
Excellency will be pleased to grant her a free /
pas+sage to Cape Town as her being on the fron=tiers /
entirely diverts her of the opportunities /
she might have of facilitating her return to /
the bosom of her family who can support /
her in comfort and untill as desirable a point /
might be obtain’d she considers she might be /
able to employ her talents to more advantage /
than she can pos+sibly do in this part of the /
Colony /
Your humble memoralist entreats your /
Excellency’s favorable answer to this her prayer /
and she as in duty bound /
will ever pray 7+c 7+c /
