Humbly sheweth /
That Your Memorialist /
Having come to this Colony under /
the expectation of supporting him=self /
and family by Agriculture /
with the as+sistance of his Pension /
yet through the failure of Crops /
and the Flood of 1823 Your /
Memorialist has been compelled /
to leave his Location and live /
in Grahams Town and with /

him a Loan of Five Hundred /
