in Chief of the Cape of Good Hope and its /
Dependencies. /
The Memorial of Thomas Hewson /
humbly sheweth, that, your Memorialist /
has expended a considerable sum of Money in /
Cultivation and Improvements at Bathurst, /
but from failure of Crops and other Circumstances /
has been induced to remove to Grahams Town /
where he has purchased an Erf with the Building /
thereon for the sum of Two Thousand Rix Dollars. /
but finds it neces+sary to repair and enlarge said /
Buildings by which he will incur an additional /
expences of Two Thousand Rix Dollars. /
Your Memorialist therefore humbly prays /
Your Excellency will be pleased to grant him a /
Loan of One Thousand Rix Dollars to complete the /
above, offering the said Properties at Grahams Town /
and Bathurst as security for the Same /
And Your Memorialist will ever pray /
