The Memorial of John George Austin most humbly /
Sheweth /
That your Excellency’s Memorialist who
is about 26 Years of age came out to this country in /
the capacity of a servant to Miles Bowker . Esq\re/ and /
from whom he has obtained his discharge but in /
consequence of this engagement it will be evident to /
your Excellency that he cannot pos+sibly be induced /
in the smallest degree of arrears with His Majesty’s /
Government /
That your Excellency’s Memorialist /
has in England a kind and venerable relative up=wards /
of Six/ty\ eight years of age, who holds an /
Estate to which at her decease he is the heir at /
Law and who wishes him to return home to his /
native country as speedily as pos+sible, for purposes /
connected with his future welfare and to which /
he is very desirous of complying /
That your Memorialist therefore /
most humbly and earnestly implores that your /
Excellency would be graciously pleased in your wonted /
goodnes+s to allow him to proceed forthwith to England at /
his own expence /
That your Memorialist hereby most deliberately /
as+sures your Excellency that he has contracted no debts /

with any one in the Colony, and therefore he is perfectly ready /
to comply with any formalities which may be required of him /
previous to his leaving the country /
That should your Excellency be pleased in /
the magnanimity of your noble mind to grant your /
Memorialist the prayer contained in this Memorial he/
will ever feel himself in duty bound to pray for the /
prosperity of your Excellency and the latest posterity of /
your illustrious House /
