The humble Petition of Henry Lloyd /
Most Humbly Shewith /
That your petitioner came out in M\r/ /
John Bailies party and arrived on his location in the /
middle of April 1820 . that your petitioner has remaind on /
his Land striving by eviry means in his pawirs to mantain /
his family consisting of his Wife and five Small Children /
the eldist of whome is not yet Ten years of age. that thro /
The failures of the Crops by the Rust and other causis, your petitioner /
and family have been driven allmost to a state bordering /
on Starvation. that added to his othir calamities your petitioner /
had part of his house swept away by the last flood. and /
his othir los+ses have also been verrey great. Vis 2 Bullocks /
40 Sheep 7+ Goats 1 large Sow and from 30 to 40 Small 7+ Large /
pigs died thro exsesive wet and Badnes+s of the Weather and /
10 Sheep 1 Lamb 10 Goats 1 Cow 3 Calves and one sow Carried /
away and devoured by wild Beasts. That having so large /
and yo/u\ng a family. It requires the utmost exertion of your Petition/er\ /
to maintain them. whilst his los+ses have made almost Imposible /
without your Excellencys kind aid and As+sistance. /
Your Petitioner therefore most humbly prays your Excellency /
to look into his deplorible Case. and that your Excellency /
would be pleased to grant unto your petitioner a loan /

(out of the funds appropratid for that purpose) of five Hundred /
Rix dollars to enable your petitioner to obtain a fresh Stock /
of Cattle wherby he may be able by Industry and perseverance /
to support his wife and yong family /
