The Memorial of John Jarman /
humbly Sheweth /
That your Memorialist came to /
this colony as a Settler in the party under the /
direction of Thomas Wilson; is the Keeper of the /
Canteen at Bathurst; and was the purchaser of /
the Pacht for the present year. At the sale of /
the Pacht, it was stated that more settlers was /
expected out this year, this event not taken /
place, and the distres+sed sated of the present settlers /
(owing to the failure of their crops) together with /
los+ses in trade to the amount of 500 Rds have /
prevented memorialist from fulfilling his engagement /
with Government, and memorialist in conse=quence /
of these circumstances finds himself under /
the neces+sity of Appealing to your Excellencys well /
known clemency earnestly solicits your Excellencys /
indulgence to allow him to make the propositions /
for your Excellencys consideration, viz. a remis+sion /
of part of the Pacht money, or an extension of the /
time to pay it, taking his Erf, Buildings, Waggon, /
cattle, another personal property as security, or, to /
allow the pacht to be resold such sale to govern /
the price for the current year. /
Memorialist humbly hopes your /
Excellency will favourably receive memorialists /
propositions, and memorialist will as in duty /
bound ever pray. /
