the Government at home and our Country=men /

has been taken of us since our departure /
from England: at the same time, we cannot /
help expres+sing our satisfaction and return=ing /
our sincere thanks thus publickly to /
your Excellency and the resident Authori=ties /
for the able, humane and energetic manner /

our steps under every difficulty of pas+sing /
almost inacces+sible roads, woods 7+ Rivers :
caused the supply of Provisions to be brought to /
us from distant parts and seen our neces+sities /
supplied confiding in our industry and /
gratitude for a return and payment. /
Thus supported and as+sisted in one of /
the finest Countries of the world with /
pleasure we toil and look forward to the /
day when we shall be enabled to repay /
our Country and convince the heads /
of the departments that their confidence in /
our exertions have not been misplaced /
and that we have been deserving of that /
Maternal Solicitude with which the /
Government at home and here have /
