That your memorialist has been a Resident /
of Grahams Town four Years two years of which /
period he worked journey work, but from the advice /
of some of the most Respectable Inhabitants /
was Induced to Commence busines+s on his own /
account; with little or no Capital; and has been /
so fortunate as to have formed a Connexion am=ongst /
the most Respectable Clas+ses of persons /
Military, and Civil _ Your Memorialist by a di=ligent /
perseverance has at lenght been able to pur=chase /
a piece of land; whereon he has built a house /
7+ your Memorialist is a Maried Man and has Two /
apprentices. is greatly encouraged by the public but /
is not enabled to push himself forward having no /
Capital, or means of procuring the neces+sary articles /
in his Saw Busines+s. and the very few articles which /
your Memorialist has hitherto been able to procure /
on the frontiers, has proved to be at an exorbitant /
price and /of\ an inferior Quality, but by your Excellencys /
Granting your Memorialist a lone, he would be /
enabled to establish a Connexion in Cape Town /
where Memorialist could get Regularly Supplyed /
