Wait, William

Boethers Place near the /
Bushmans River July 23 \d/_1820 /
May it please your Excellency, /

I arrived with my party of Settlers /
on Tuesday last at this the place directed /
for our location. /
As this place is peculiarly /
fitted for the breeding of Cattle, and as some /
additional Oxen to a span I have purchased, /
in consequence of the far advance of the ploughing /
season, are requisite for our immediate agricultural /
purposes, _ with a view to such purchases. I have /
occasion to draw the second installment of my /
deposit, and have been directed by M\r./ Johnstone /
the Dep. As+sist. Commis+sary General of Graham’s /
Town to apply to your Excellency for an order to /
that effect, on my signing the neces+sary bond. /
I trust that your Excellency will be /
pleased to give directions accordingly. /
Independant of considerable property /
for which I shortly expect permis+sion to draw on /
to London _ the considerable and good buildings, I /
shall soon erect on the land granted to me _ /
the cultivated state, I trust shortly to put a /
good portion of it into _ the produce of this _ /
the Cattle I shall shortly purchase _ besides /
valuables to considerable amount in my immediate /
>
pos+ses+sion _ I hope will be considered sufficient /
security to Government, for the provisions for /
which I may have occasion to draw. /
May it please your Excellency, /
I have the honor to be /
Your Excellencie’s /
most Obed\t./ faitful /
humble Serv\t./ /
William Wait, /

His Excellency Major General /
Sir Rufane Shaw Donkin /
Governor _ 7+c. 7+c. 7+c. /
