Landing Place Saldanha Bay /
Thursday 25\th/. May 1820. /
In consequence of M\r./ William Parker /
having refused to me this morning the permis+=sion /
of as+singning my name /to his list\ with 3 Servants /
and their families for proceeding up the /
Country I take liberty of earnestly /
soliciting that myself my Servants and /
their families may be permitted to pro=ceed /
by the earliest oppertunity to /
William’s Clan or elsewhere on the Banks /
or in the Vicinity of the Oliphant River /
I write my present in great /
haste for availing myself of the Post /
and request your consideration of /
my situation as miserably encumbered /
by /
>
by the animosity of this individual /
who conceals his various communica=tions /
from the Government and by /
such means has lost to me the oppor=tunity /
of supplying myself with Tents /
Tools and various Stores when at Simons /
Bay _ I have the honor to be /
Sir /
Your truly Obed\t./ Servant /
