I have the honour to acknowledge the /
receipt of your letter, Communicating his /
Excellencys View of my situation in reference /
to my Memorial forwarded by Major Rogers on the /
15\th/January last. I have called on the Landdrost /
at Grahams town agreeable therto. and find he /
is not authorized to afford the neces+sary protection /
little is required from any man of disernment /
under these Circumstances /to point out\ the line of Conduct he /
Ought to pursue and as I must Abandon my /
place I consider it neces+sary to enclose for your /
Inspection a slight outline of the improvements /
Making and nearly Compleated /
I have in consequence the /

will the Colonial Goverment Remunerate /
the Expences incurred. or am I to apply to the /
Goverment at home for Consideration /
