To His Excellency the Governor of the Cape of /
good Hope /
I beg leave to state to you that /
I am a Free settler under the Direction of W\[m]/ /
Parker Esg\r/ _ In consequence of circumstances /
being contrary to my opinion I would wish to /
Discharge an Articled Servant of Mine whose /
name is Matthew Nelson = he is a Man with /
a Wife and four Children which I am not /
able to Support he is a Sawer by Trade and there /
is no Timber for to employ him when the Sett=lers /
are Station _ he is satisfied to comply with /
my Discharge provided I could have his family /
7+ Luggage Removed to Cape Town or any other /
Convenient port where he is likely to get Em=ployment /
_ I am not able to pay him for the /
time he {w} \was/ with me = his Wife is Ill and would /
not be able to stand the hardship that may Occur /
by Travelling to Algo Bay now if your Excellency /
will be so Kind as to take this into your Serious = /
TO /
> consideration and comply with the Request /
that is to have him and family Removed to /
Cape Town at the Goverment Expence as I am /
not capable of so doing it will serve and ever /
oblige your Obed\[t]/ and very Humble Serv\[t]/ /
