The Memorial of George Vernon Fulgon. /
Humbly Sheweth /
That your Memorialist came out to this Colony as a Settler /
in the party under the direction of M\r./ John Bailie, which party being /
subdivided into several smaller ones, he is now in one under the direction /
of M\r./ T. Flanagan _ That Memorialist paid his own deposit 7+ is under /
no agreement whatsoever to any person, he is by profes+sion a West Indian Plan=ter /
, and that he was induced to come out under the mistaken notion of the /
Sugar Cane thriving here, which not being the case 7+ seeing no prospect of gaining /
a livelihood here by his profes+sion, humbly intreats your Excellency’s permis+sion /
that he may be allowed to proceed from thence to Cape Town, in order to /
avail himself of the recommendation he has there for a permanent situation./
And your Memorialist shall be in duty bound to pray for your Excellency /
